There isn’t much you can do with beer bottles…or so we thought. Apart from making them from glass or aluminium and adding some cool graphics to them, the beer bottle isn’t generally something that can be improved on.

Well Heineken don’t think so, and so they created the first interactive beer bottle. It’s difficult to think of how a bottle can be interactive, but this bottle is unlike any beer bottle in hisotry. It contains 8 LED lights, a microprocessor and an accelerometer. The lights react differently to different action. It will light up when bottles are touched together to say cheers, it will respond to a sip being taken from it and best of all can respond to music in a club. It’s unlike anything you have ever seen and the best way to understand it is with this video of the interactive beer bottle:
